Our Property

“In 2014, we decided to search for a new home that offered our young family more space and freedom to grow and develop their love for nature and animals. With over seventy acres of natural bushland, a short drive to the village, and the biggest drawcard - an incredible view - this hidden gem ticked all our boxes.

For the past few years, we have chipped away at a small dream and now, we invite you to share in the experience.

Altura Vista Cottages, also known as Altura Vista, is a place where guests can listen to bird songs all day long. Where one can enjoy blazing sunsets or tracking the zodiacs across the galaxies. Perhaps delight in a red vino by a romantic fire, slip into a hot tub for a long, therapeutic soak, or spot a sunbaking alpaca from their deck. Mostly, it's a place to unwind and enjoy the tranquility.

Long gone are the days when Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Broad would roam across this land with their horse and sulky and before them, our First Nations people. We feel no less privileged to be the caretakers of our environment and if you love the simple things in life - we are the right fit for you! Choose to spend all your time with us or escape beyond our front gate to explore the countryside. Pack a fine wine, sketch pad, bubble bath; we accept all methods of relaxation and above all else, we can't wait to share Samford's best view with you!”

Living up to its namesake, Altura Vista (Altura meaning ‘high ground’), is ideally situated high on a ridgeline with a panoramic view of the mighty D'Aguilar Range. Guests will immediately fall in love with the expansive space, big blue sky and incredible view.

The private villa-style cottages are tucked amongst towering gums, rolling green hills and natural vegetation. Perched high on your deck, delight in a cuppa or cool drink and breathe in the 180-degree panorama, from The Summit in the south to Mount Archer in the north and across to the leafy tops of Mount Glorious and Mount Samson on the western horizon. Empowering and pristine, the range is another chain-link in the Great Dividing Range, which was formed over 300 million years ago. Away from the neon lights, the evening sky is just as spectacular as the daytime vista.

Altura Vista is also home to abundant wildlife, prolific birdlife and a family of alpacas, who spend most days free-roaming the property, sometimes popping into the neighbours!

Accommodating a maximum of six guests at one time, fully equipped and complemented with quality furnishings, crafted from a vision of space, beauty and relaxation at heart; Altura Vista is truly the place to stop, breathe and just be.

Central to the landscaped gardens, and conveniently located directly outside the accommodation is the guest car park. From the car park, a set of stairs leads guests to the rustic-style barbeque area. Cook up a storm on the 4-burner BBQ (plate & grill), with plenty of room to spread out and enjoy a home-cooked meal on the large timber setting.

The communal fire pit is complemented with giant log seating, wide enough to fit a cheese board and balance a wine glass, and is only a few steps away from your cottage.

Sensor lighting, floodlights, and solar garden lights ensures guests can move around safely in low light or darkness.
